Leftover wax leads to experiments.

After I was finished with my Batik project this evening I had a bit of a play around with the rest of the melted wax.. The hotplate kept it simmering so I could spend as long as I needed doing some of this..

So I started to pour wax onto my hand, which resulted in making a candle in the palm of my hand. It was fun, quite obsessive too.. Pouring wax and watching it dry is quite mesmerizing! It burned at first, when the wax got inbetween my fingers and trickled to the back of my hand but it was worth it.

I now have it as a mould of my palm hanging from the ceiling of my bedroom. Like a floating candle. :]
