Mud Monster

View from my boyfriends window :)

Because of my job working at the nightmare realm not only has my body been getting a work out but my skin is also having a hard time adjusting to my new routine. Little cuts, red patches and general break outs from regularly plastering my face in adhesive glue, various theatrical make-up and fake blood. To top it all off I wear a prosthetic mask for around 6 hours each night! So my skin is definitely suffering right now.

I miss having soft cheeks and a clear complexion so to make me feel all happyshinyfeelin again I went on a little hunt for a new diy face mask. I’ve dabbled in these before in the past with Lush products and even making my own but I’m always interested to try different masks. This one is so simple you can’t go wrong. Because of bad lighting and shaky hands (I miss my tripod!) I decided to just give up on taking photos in every stage and spared yourself from nightmares of my mug covered in said mud mask!

You will need; 2 tablespoons of honey, a teaspoon of cinnamon, a teaspoon of nutmeg. Squeeze the honey into a jar and pop in your dry ingredients  Mix all together till it represents something like Nutella and you’re ready to go!

Clip all your stray hairs back as they will find a way to cling to your new mud face. (one way being my boyfriend trying to be funny by blowing my fringe into my face..grr!) Treat your face like a cupcake and smear the mask on with the back of your spoon. You can have lots of fun at this point! Try mud moustaches, rugby lines or cat whiskers. I know, i’m soo mature. Also, keep a tissue close by if you like me, put way too much on and its dripping from your face..!

Wait 15-30 minutes depending on your skin type/how long you can go looking like a crazy pooface.. I have sensitive skin so I kept mine on for around 20 minutes. Wash off in warm water with soft circular motions. The nutmeg and cinnamon act as nice exfoliants and the honey leaves your skin soft as a baby :) Crappy skin – Be GONE! xo
